Product page badge

The COD badge shows "Cash on Delivery available" on your product pages, so shoppers know they can pay on delivery before they reach checkout. It follows your Limit COD rules and is included on every plan, including Free.

Add the badge

  1. Open the app's Dashboard.
  2. In the Show COD availability on product pages card, click Add badge to product page.
  3. The theme editor opens on a product page with the badge added. Drag it where you want it, for example just above Add to cart.
  4. Click Save.

Back on the Dashboard, the card shows Added to product page once the badge is on your live theme. If it still says Not added yet, click the refresh icon next to it.

To add it by hand: go to Online Store → Themes → Customize, open a product page, click Add block in the product information section and choose COD badge under Apps.

Note: The badge is a theme app block, so it needs an Online Store 2.0 theme, such as Dawn or most themes from the Shopify Theme Store.

When the badge is hidden

The badge checks the same rules as your COD restrictions, so shoppers don't see it where COD won't be offered.

Limit COD ruleBadge follows it?
Products, variants, collections, vendors, gift cardsYes
CountriesYes, using the shopper's location
Customer tags, email, phone numberYes, for logged-in customers
Plan order limit reached (COD switched off)Yes
Order total, discount, shipping method, state / province, postal codeNo — checked at checkout only

The checkout-only rules depend on the whole cart or the delivery address, and neither exists yet on a product page. They still apply at checkout as usual.

Good to know

  • Country rules use the shopper's location. If you have a country rule and the shopper's country can't be detected, the badge stays hidden to be safe.
  • Guests. Email and phone rules can only be checked for logged-in customers. Guests see the badge, and the rule applies at checkout.
  • Mixed carts. If the cart has a product where COD is hidden, COD is hidden for the whole order at checkout. Each product page only knows about its own product, so the badge can still show on the others.
  • No layout jump. The badge keeps its space while it checks the shopper's country, then fades in. If it shouldn't show, the space closes.
  • Rule changes apply automatically. When you save Limit COD, the badge picks up the new rules.

Why is the badge hidden here?

In the theme editor, a hidden badge shows a short note explaining why: either COD isn't offered for this product under your restrictions, or COD is off for your store because the plan's order limit was reached. Shoppers never see these notes.
